By The Numbers: UFC Fight Night 246 Pre-Fight Edition


Flyweight contenders Brandon Moreno and Amir Albazi will take center stage for the Ultimate Fighting Championship when it touches down with UFC Fight Night 246 on Saturday at Rogers Place in Edmonton, Alberta. Meanwhile, Rose Namajunas puts Erin Blanchfield to the test in the three-round women’s flyweight co-main event at 125 pounds.

As UFC Fight Night 246 “Moreno vs. Albazi” approaches, a look at some of the numbers the fighters on the docket bring to the table:

1,307: Total strikes landed by Moreno as a UFC flyweight, placing him third on the promotion’s all-time list at 125 pounds. Only Tim Elliott (1,786) and Demetrious Johnson (1,678) have connected with more.

9: Promotions for which Albazi has plied his mixed martial arts trade. He has gone 5-0 in the UFC, 3-0 in World Ultimate Full Contact, 2-0 in Bellator MMA, 2-0 in Ultimate Challenge MMA, 1-1 in Brave Combat Federation, 1-0 in Fight Star Championship, 1-0 in Scandinavian Fight Nights, 1-0 in Caveam and 1-0 in the Scottish Fight Challenge.

25: Years of age for Blanchfield. The youngest fighter on the card, she was born on May 4, 1999 in Elmwood Park, New Jersey.

931: Days spent by Namajunas as undisputed UFC women’s strawweight champion. She held the 115-pound title from Nov. 4, 2017 to May 11, 2019 and again from April 24, 2021 to May 7, 2022.

39: Years of age for Lewis. The oldest fighter on the card, he was born on Feb. 7, 1985 in New Orleans. Lewis confronts Jhonata Diniz in a three-round heavyweight showcase.

60: Seconds needed for Diniz to punch out Guilherme Lazzarini at Imortal Fight Championship 11 on Nov. 20, 2022. Nearly two years later, it remains the undefeated Brazilian’s fastest finish to date.

28: Rounds started by Caio Machado as a professional mixed martial artist. The former Battlefield Fight League champion has gone the distance on six different occasions and carries a 2-3-1 record in those bouts. Machado draws Brendson Ribeiro in a three-round light heavyweight attraction.

4: Sub-minute stoppages on the Ribeiro resume. He cut down Diego Maia with a head kick in 27 seconds at a Hard Fight show on July 23, 2015, put away Pedro Henrique Queiroz with a guillotine choke in 25 seconds under the Revelation Fighting Championship banner on Jan. 29, 2016, punched out Danilo Maikuara in 49 seconds at a Combate Para event on Dec. 16, 2017 and stopped Gilmar Dutra Lima in 52 seconds under the Nacao Cyborg flag on Sept. 3, 2022.

10: Marc-Andre Barriault wins by knockout or technical knockout, accounting for 63% of his career total (16). His list of UFC victims: Julian Marquez and Abu Azaitar. Barriault faces Dustin Stoltzfus in a three-round middleweight feature.

11: Consecutive calendar years in which Stoltzfus has fought at least once. In addition to a 0-1 mark in 2024, he went 2-0 in 2014, 3-1 in 2015, 1-0 in 2016, 2-0 in 2017, 2-0 in 2018, 2-0 in 2019, 1-1 in 2020, 0-2 in 2021, 1-1 in 2022 and 1-0 in 2023.

5: Takedowns completed by Trevin Giles in his second-round knockout of James Bochnovic in his first Octagon assignment at UFC 213 in July 2017. It set a personal high-water mark for the San Antonio native that stands to this day.

6: Malott victories by submission, accounting for 60% of his career total (10). His methods of choice: two armbars, two guillotine chokes, one rear-naked choke and one arm-triangle choke.

.746: Cumulative winning percentage between the 28 mixed martial artist slated to compete at the event. They boast a combined record of 403-135-6. Lewis has the most wins (28) and losses (12) of anyone on the card.
