UFC on Fox 20 Update: Jim Alers vs. Jason Knight Booked for Chicago

A featherweight clash pitting Jim Alers against Jason Knight has been added to the UFC on Fox 20 lineup.

Promotion officials announced the matchup on Wednesday. UFC on Fox 20 takes place at the United Center in Chicago on July 23 and is headlined by a bantamweight bout between ex-champ Holly Holm and Valentina Shevchenko.

Alers last appearance ended prematurely, as an accidental eye poke brought a halt to his UFC on Fox 17 bout with Cole Miller in the second round. Prior to that, “The Beast” earned a split verdict over Alan Omer in his Octagon debut before falling to Chas Skelly via TKO at UFC Fight Night “Henderson vs. Thatch.”

Knight made his promotional debut at “The Ultimate Fighter 22” finale, where he dropped a unanimous decision to Tatsuya Kawajiri. That defeat snapped an eight-fight winning streak for the 23-year-old Mississippi native.
