The 27-year old trusts the power in his hands.

After earning himself an Ultimate Fighting Championship contract at Dana White’s Contender Series in August 2020, Bellator MMA vet Adrian Yanez (13-3, 2-0 UFC) proved that the 135-pound division has to take his knockout power seriously. Yanez got his shot in the UFC after scoring a 39-second KO, and he lost no time in rendering Victor Rodriguez unconscious in the opening round to celebrate his promotional debut at UFC Fight Night 181. The 27-year old fighter then stopped Gustavo Lopez at UFC on ESPN 21, once again with a knockout. Now, he will face Randy Costa at UFC on ESPN 27. According to the Metro Fight Club representative, there is no doubt about how the fight will end.

“I believe I have power in both my hands to put Randy to sleep,” he said. “He’s a tough fighter, he is going to come forward, he is going to walk forward every single time. That’s just the way he fights and that’s what type of fighter he is. I respect that and I know what I’m getting myself into. I just know I have power in both my hands and he’s going to leave himself open. That’s whenever I’m going to take the time to really sit down and crack him with a couple of shots. If he can take the punches, if he can take the punishment, we’ll have a three-round Fight of the Night, but I really do think I’ll get out of there in the second round.”
