Featherweight Final: Movlid Khaybulaev vs. Jesus Pinedo
BothKhaybulaev and Pinedo got their respective jobs done in two completely opposite ways. Khaybulaev faced Tae Kyun Kim and displayed dominance throughout all 15 minutes, with wrestling skills that kept him in control in all three rounds. While Kim put up a contested battle, Khaybulaev, the 2021 PFL Featherweight king, never gave an opening and is back into the spotlight. On the other side of the bracket, Pinedo met Gabriel Braga for the third time. Pinedo, who won the 2023 PFL Championship with a third-round technical knockout of Braga, finished the show much faster this time out. Just a little over a minute into the first round, Pinedo caught Braga with multiple combos that put him down and the trilogy was over, with Pinedo one win away from another PFL title.

Welterweight Final: Logan Storley vs. Thad Jean
Former Bellator MMA interim ace Storley squared off against Masayuki Kikuiri and continued to display his wrestling excellence. While the Japanese fighter had moments in the second round, Storley was consistent in his grappling and brought the fight to the mat throughout. Since the format changed to the tournament style, Storley has been one who most benefitted most, being able to fight his fight and only focus on getting the job done across 15 minutes of action.Jean came in against former Bellator king Jackson and while it was the young uprising talent against a former world champion who was not short on confidence, the contest was incredibly close. Close enough that Jean was awarded with the split decision victory, keeping his undefeated record in place, and another chapter in building his stardom. Jean will now be matched with another seasoned vet and former champ when he takes on Storley in August.
With the completion of Thursday’s event, two of eight brackets have been set for Champions month in August. The women’s flyweight, men’s bantamweight and lightweight brackets will have their semifinals take place in Wichita on June 20.
