Sherdog’s Official Mixed Martial Arts Rankings

Murphy’s Law

Lerone Murphy is gradually carving out a spot for himself in the upper echelon of the Ultimate Fighting Championship’s featherweight division.

“The Iceman” earned his eighth straight victory in the UFC Vegas 105 headliner, as he confounded the heavy-handed Josh Emmett for five rounds in a unanimous decision triumph at the UFC Apex in Vegas on Saturday night. While it wasn’t the most fan-friendly performance, it was more than enough for Murphy to take Emmett’s place in the Top 10 in Sherdog’s latest divisional poll. However, the Manchester, England, native might need to do something more spectacular in the near future to truly make an impact in the weight class. Emmett, meanwhile, has lost three out of four, and though he remains a dangerous adversary even at 40 years old, falls to the featherweight bubble.

Elsewhere, after losing his Bellator MMA title last June, Jason Jackson returned to the win column in the PFL 2025 World Tournament: First Round 1 headliner, as he submitted fellow former champion Andrey Koreshkov in the second round of their encounter at Universal Studios in Orlando on Thursday. Dating back to December 2019, “The Ass Kicking Machine” has won nine of his last 10 bouts, and his lone loss came against Ramazan Kuramagomedov, one of the top 170-pound talents in the world. Jackson maintains his No. 6 ranking as he looks ahead to a tournament semifinal showdown with the undefeated Thad Jean.

Elisandra Ferreira de Oliveira showed she has staying power as atomweight champion, as she defended her crown with five-round verdict over No. 14 Ana Palacios in the Invicta FC 61 headliner on Friday. “Lili” has won five straight bouts under the Invicta Fighting Championships banner, allowing her to climb to No. 2 in the latest rankings update.

Jamie Edenden also made a big move at Invicta 61, knocking out Jackie Cataline in the second round of the evening’s co-main event. The Aussie has won her last five fights and makes her debut in the featherweight Top 10 this week. That climb is aided by the departure of two stalwarts — Cat Zingano and Sara McMann — both of whom haven’t competed since October 2023.
